Watercolor and pencil on paper,

The Totems are a series of pieces that represent an animal attached to a human figure, like if they were part of the same body. They also carry a very simple concept: our deep attachment to Nature as one single thing. In those pieces, the human head is always black and white and naturalist, while the animal is colorful and filled with abstract shapes.

Beautiful owl, he looks a bit grumpy, like he is wondering why we have disturbed him. :) I love the flowing shapes and colors you formed him from.

The owl...wisdom, knowledge - inner knowledge, intuition...but it obstructs her view...
I think your picture's beautiful :)

Not only is this aesthetically appealing, but it is also very intriguing conceptually. The relationship between man and Nature has always been something that interests me, and is something I've explored briefly. This makes me want to delve further. I love the parallel between the woman and the owl, and the contrasts you've stated (colour, naturalism v. abstract). Totem poles are fascinating to me, as is that entire culture, precisely because of this relationship.
Well, wonderful work. It has inspired me, is technically excellent, and the concept is well executed. Exactly what I look for in art.
